Head

Skull

• Lytic Lesions consistent with Multiple Myeloma .

• Left mediastinal mass with left pleural effusion
• Pneumocystis Carinii pneumonia- (AP)
• Mitral stenosis causing left atrial enlargement
• Bilateral lower lobe atelectasis
• Hiatal hernia -(PA)
• Hiatal hernia - (lateral)
• Tension pneumothorax -right sided-AP. The same patient's CXR 2 days later with incomplete re-expansion after tube thoracostomy.
• Pneumothorax (right-sided close up view)
• Empyema with air-fluid levels on the left side -(PA). The lateral view demonstrates lack of visualization of the left hemidiaphragm.
• Bullous Emphysema with large bilateral bullae -(PA)
• Pnuemomediastinum shown by small arrow-(AP). The patient is also intubated.
• Infiltrate of left upper lobe - (PA)
• Infiltrate of RUL and LUL - (AP)
• Thoracic aortic aneurysm (PA) . The lateral view is also quite impressive.
• Metastatic rib lesion (close-up view) . Notice the irregular outline of the involved rib compared to the others.
• Tuberculosis of RUL -(PA) . The lesion is also seen well on the lateral view .
• Multiple rib fractures on the right side with pulmonary contusion and hemothorax. There is a close up demonstrating the rib fractures.
• Situs Inversus (PA) . (this film is not reversed).
• Splenic hematoma demonstrating medial deviation of gastric bubble .
• Asbestosis-(PA) . There is also a lateral view .
• Hilar adenopathy-(PA) . Consistent with lymphoma or sarcoid.
• Left upper lobe nodule -(PA)

Abdomen

• Small bowel obstruction with multiple air fluid levels.

• Small bowel obstruction upright view with NGT in stomach. The supine view demonstrates the valvae of the small bowel well.
• Large and small bowel dilation . There is also a lateral decubitus view .
• Pneumointestinalis in a neonate. There is a close up view demonstrating the bowel wall air.
• Pneumobilia after passage of a gallstone. Take a good look at the liver where the biliary tract is outlined by air.

Pelvis

• Sacral fracture on left side
• Sacral fracture on left side with superior pubic ramus fracture
• Acetabular fracture on the left posterior lip
• Pubic symphysis widening with right sacroiliac joint widening .
• Pubic symphysis widening

Upper Extremities

Hand

• Metacarpal fracture-5th base
• Metacarpal fracture-5th base
• Metacarpal fracture 3rd, 4th heads . You can see the fracture better in a close up view .
• Proximal phalanx of thumb (nondisplaced) . Close up view shows this fracture more clearly.
• Middle phalanx of 2nd digit involving the articular surface. There is a close-up view .
• Distal phalanx of thumb torus fracture.
• PIP dislocation of 5th digit. There is a close up view .
  
• Frx 5th metacarpal head AP view, lateral view .

Wrist

• Radiocarpal dislocation (AP) . This is well demonstrated on the lateral view . There is also an oblique view .
• Perilunate dislocation (lateral) . There is also an AP view .
• Navicular (scaphoid) fracture.
• Navicular (scaphoid) fracture. -AP. There is a nice close up view . There is an oblique view as well.
• Radius fracture (distal) . It's subtle but you can see it next to the arrow here .
• Radius fracture (distal).
• Radius and ulna distal torus fracture (AP) . There is a lateral view .
  
• Navicular fracture, AP view, "navicular view".

Forearm

• Radius/Ulna midshaft greenstick fracture.
• Radius/Ulna distal diplaced fracture (AP) . There is a lateral view .

Elbow

• Intercondylar fracture, extending vertically-(AP) . It is not as obvious in the lateral view .
• Radial head fracture (lateral) . The AP view shows it well too.

Shoulder

• Scapular fracture demonstrated on the lateral border.
• Humeral surgical neck fracture, displaced. .
  
• Posterior shoulder dislocation, axillary view, note the humeral head is not in the glenoid fossa, AP with internal rotation, note the small and false "joint space" as the humeral head sits behind the glenoid fossa, external rotation, Y view .
