Facial
skin infection (Facial cellulitis): An 8-year- old girl presented
with fever and a facial rash. The rash was in front of the ear
with a central area of hardening. This presentation is suggestive
of facial or buccal cellulitis, a rare but potentially life-threatening
infection caused by bacterial species called H. influenzae
(suggested by a purple hue to the rash) and two forms of Strep.
