Periapical tooth abscess: Periapical abscesses
are teeth with cavities in which the pulp space infection has extended deep in
the gums to the apex of the tooth, in the gingival socket. Radiographic findings
include a light appearance at the apex of the tooth. A breakdown of the filling
is also seen on this x-ray . (L.S.)
