Infection
of a lymp vein (Lymphangitis). A paient who has lymphangitis
will typically have a red streak of the skin along the course
of a lymphatic vein. As shown, it may extend from a site of infection
(cellulitis) to the trunk. Bacteriology (lab study) usually reflects
the original infection and often is a Staph or Strep
organism. (L.S.)
