Photo Rounds

Periorbital cellulitis in a patient with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS): A 32-year-old patient with a CD4 count of less than 50 presented with fever and right periorbital swelling and redness. Solitary, oval, violaceous nodules were seen on the right cheek consistent with epidemic Kaposi's sarcoma. Periorbital cellulitis as suggested by this clinical picture in a patient with AIDS is most likely from an extension of sinusitis. (L.S.)
