Perilunate dislocation: A 27-year-old right-handed man presented with right wrist pain after having fallen down a flight of stairs while intoxicated. The lateral x-ray of the wrist reveals a perilunate dislocation of the carpal bones. This is apparent when attempting to draw an imaginary line through the centers of the radius, lunate, and capitate. The capitate and distal structures are dislocated dorsally from their normal alignment. (L.S.)
