Wolff, MD
Dr. Wolff
is curently Distinguished Teaching Professor, Department of
Family Medicine, and Director of the Rural Medical Eduation
program at the SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse. He also
serves on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Family
Practice. Dr. Wolff graduated from Siena College (Albany, New
York) in 1964 and received his medical degree from Albany Medical
College/Union University - MD in 1968. He was a resident in
Family Practice at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse, New York
from 1968-1971 and was Chief Resident from 1970-71.
Dr. Wolff
served in the Office of the Surgeon General, (Department of
the Army, Washington, DC) and was Assistant Chief, Family Practice
and Ambulatory Care Consultant from 1971-1972. He was a Clinical
Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Virginia, 1971-1973.
In 1973, Dr. Wollf joined the faculty at the SUNY Health Science
Center at Syracuse. He subsequently held the position of Chairman
of the Department of Family Medicine from 1973-1985.
Dr. Wolff
is a national leader in family practice eduction having played
a major role in the establishment of seven Family Practice Residencies
within the U.S. Army System and, privously, serving as President
of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM) (1985-1986).
He has also played an active role in the development of health
care policy, serving on the New York State Governor's Health
Care Advisory Board (1990-1994)
