The pain was worse on sitting, coughing, and straining. There was evidence of a boggy feeling around the left side of the anal area (collection of pus)with a large area of redness as shown. The collection of pus (perianal abscess) and skin infection (cellulitis) were a secondary infection of a fungul infection around the buttocks. (L.S.)
