Collection
of pus in the lung (Lung abscess)): A 51-year-old man, nonsmoker,
had a chest x-ray that demonstrated an 8-cm cavity-like lesion
with an air-fluid level located in the upper segment of the right
lower lobe suggestive of a collection of pus (abscess). The primary
sites of infection included the rear part of the upper lung and
and the upper segments of both lower portions of the lung. Most
lung abscesses contain several organisms.. Lateral
