You are working the night shift and it is 3am when
your patient arrives. He is a 58 year old white male complaining
of a feeling of tightness in the center of his chest beginning 2
hours ago waking him from sleep. The tightness radiates to his
left shoulder and has been constant. He reports breaking out in a
cold sweat. He has never had this pain before. He has a history
of hypertension and is on a "blood pressure pill" which
he takes once a day. There is no other significant history other
than smoking a pack of cigarrettes per day for the last 15 years.
Vitals are below. What would you like to do for this man while
you obtain further information?
BP = 134/92, P=72, R=22, T= 37.2 C.
